In the background, only a small portion of the actual program is stored on the computer it is running on. When you access areas of the program that are not part of this small portion, the required library is automatically downloaded and run. This process is seamless to the end user.

Q. Why do CDXSmartView™ applications need to be installed?

1. CDXSmartView™ applications require installation because they don't run in the client browser, Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox. The installation process properly configures appropriate security settings for the client, creates a program directory, creates any local database files and creates application shortcuts so that the program can be started from the desktop or the programs folder.

Q. How big is an installation file?

1. A standard CDXSmartView™ application requires a very small footprint. On average the install file is less than 400KB in size. Depending upon your application needs, the installation process could be tailored to install more of the application during the inital installation process.

Q. How secure is the CDXSmartView™ platform?

1. During the installation process of any CDXSmartView™ application, client security settings are modified that configure the application to "trust" your company's website or application URL. When the application needs to download a specific area of the program, the     file(s) are downloaded over an SSL connection to ensure that the library is not tampered with during transmission. The same applies when connecting to any remote database servers or storage systems.
   
   Modules can be added to any CDXSmartView™ application to provide encryption redundancy to any remotely accessed data source. These modules would encrypt all database queries, web service calls, and any file transfers using a 128 bit AES Encryption Algorithm.

Q. Do we need a website to run CDXSmartView™ applications?

1. No, a website or company web server is not required. CDXSmartView™ applications can also be configured to run on any company Intranet without complicated IT support. Instead of hosting application libraries on a web or Intranet server, they could be hosted on a shared network drive or other storage device.

Q. How easy is it to make updates to a CDXSmartView™ application?

1. The CDXSmartView™ platform is designed to simplify application updates and bug fixes. There are no files to register or update patches to install. The area of the program to be updated is simply recompiled and copied to the library-hosting location.
