The "Data Fields Location" area on the CDXStreamerTM settings interface allows you to specify how the data will be inserted into the worksheet:
There are two choices for the location of the returned data fields:
Nearest Range (will overwrite existing data)
CDXStreamerTM will place the returned quote data immediately to the right of the index column, or immediately below. In this case, any data that already exists in this area will be overwritten, as shown below.
CDXStreamerTM also provides a bold border around the set of returned data.
Nearest Range that does NOT contain data
If this option is chosen, CDXStreamerTM will place the data as close as possible to the index list, without overwriting any existing data. This option is especially useful if you want to maintain a historical record; CDXStreamerTM will simply continue to add data sets as desired. An example is shown below:
When the "Refresh" function is selected from the CDXStreamerTM commandbar, the last data set will be replaced with refreshed data; a new data set is not created.
Specified offset columns or rows
The data fields area allows you to specify that a blank row or column be entered as well as any individual data item. This prevents CDXStreamerTM from overwriting any special formulas or values (such as the number of shares you own) that may have entered in the spreadsheet.
Press the "Add Blank" button and this will place a series of dashes in the list of items to be retrieved. This is an indication that a blank will be inserted before adding the next data item. Use the up and down buttons to position the blank in the proper order. Multiple blanks can be inserted if needed.
With the settings shown above, pressing "Get Data" will result in the following output:
