This week we cover a new free online tool to generate
ZIP Code distance reports. We also provide an update on support of
Caliper's Maptitude software with CDXZipStream.

Free ZIP Code Distance Report
We just expanded our offering of free online tools
with a ZIP
Code Distance Report. All you need to enter is
two US ZIP Copes in this mobile-friendly web application.
The output report is shown below and contains the straight-line
distance, driving distance, distance type, route map and the latitude
and longitude for both ZIP Codes.
The distance can be optionally specified in miles, kilometers or
nautical miles. Bing Maps is used for the driving distance calculation
and displayed map. CDXGeodata is
used for the straight-line distance calculation. The results
will match the CDXZipStream formula for straight-line distance
CDXDistance and driving distance with CDXRouteBing.
You'll find this to be a useful tool if you are away
from your PC and Excel and want to look up a route on your phone or
other device. Our website also has other free online tools for
demographics, ZIP Code lookups and radius reports.

Update on Maptitude Support
As discussed in our April newsletter we are working on
an update to CDXZipStream to work with Caliper's
Maptitude mapping software. We are currently in beta test for
this product and working on updates to our web site to support it.
Release of this product is now expected to be in mid-July.
Two new functions will be added for geocoding and
routing named CDXRouteMaptitude and CDXLocateMaptitude. These
functions will work in a similar fashion to those used for Mappoint
and Bing. Existing CDXZipStream customers will be able to optionally
add them to any current version of CDXZipStream. CDXZipStream
originally started with support of Microsoft Mappoint which was
obsoleted by Microsoft in 2014.
The expected price for this update is $99.95. This does
not include Maptitude itself which is a separate
purchase. Our initial release will only support the US
version of Maptitude and is compatible with Maptitude 2014 and
greater.

Latest Data Updates
Canadian and U.S. data feeds of CDXZipStream were
updated as of June 25. If you would like to update your
database to reflect these changes, select the "Account"
option on the CDXZipStream commandbar and click on "Check for
Available Database Updates". You can then update each
database as required.
CDXZipStream updates are a part of the one-year software maintenance
subscription included with your purchase. If you would like to
extend your subscription, please sign in to the CDX Technologies
website and from the account area for CDXZipStream, select "Buy
Data Update". The maintenance agreement also includes
access to the latest version of CDXZipStream. If you are using our
discontinued "Classic" version you can upgrade to the
current software by purchasing this subscription at a fraction of the
list price.
